As I'm new to using ActiveVFP, and only have sample applications running for testing and devel, I wondered if HTTPS could be used?

I am asking because I know many people will ask for this when they get the app.

Thanks!

Absolutely, you just have to get a certificate from GoDaddy, install on IIS and then just start using https:// instead of http://

I created a CSR based on my IIS (XP Pro SP3, IIS 5.1)

I verified this with Verisign, and got the 30 day trial certificate. I downloaded this to a text file, saved as CER and successfully imported it into IIS, I then restarted IIS services.

But when I type

https://192.168.1.110:[myportnumber]/[myappname] it doesn't work? Yet if I omit the "s" it continues to work as normal? Do you know why this is?

PS Thanks for the great support !!

Can you get any web page to work with https:// ?? Like a simple https://192.168.1.110/helloworld.htm ?  Here's an article about installing cert to enable https on iis 5.1:

PS: Thanks for the compliment on support - if you are able, consider making a small donation to help support ActiveVFP and show your appreciation.
