AVFP 603 install on GoDaddy issues

description

Hi Everybody. I am having trouble getting the AVFP 603 demo to work on Godaddy. I was on tech support for over an hour and they sent me some error trapping info but I can't seem to get that to work. Is there some kind of file needed in the Godaddy's html root directory that should be there that I missed?

I also tried to install AVFP 603 on my local PC using IIS and am getting "Could not load type 'AVFPHandler". Maybe it's because I am running on a 64 bit PC?

Any help would be appreciated!

AVFP starting point is in ASP.net and it's the AVFPHandler class ( which implements IHttpHandler interface), that does all the subsequent work in VFP. If you cannot get past this first step then it's some problem in installation setup.

Review the set-up instructions again. I have been using 64 bit windows PC for some time now and no such problem in AVFP 603.

There are new instructions for using GoDaddy 6.03 - I don't know if you saw or used them yet:

I'm sorry you're having problems - it just shouldn't be that hard. Either GoDaddy, any web host, or local installation should always be easy and straightforward.

If installing locally, ALWAYS use the AVFP 603 Installer unless you have a REALLY good reason for using the zip.

BTW, there's a video now that demos the local install (took about 2 minutes on a Win7 64-bit computer) and also GoDaddy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaKmRhxS0Z0

Hey Everybody! Thanks for your help! I used the installer and I successfully installed locally. As for installing on GoDaddy, I solved the installation problem by completely uninstalling the software, and following the new instructions and trying again. It worked. Thanks again!!!
