Read Only Error When I Try to Update a DBF

I created an HTM file similar to Verify.htm as a test.

I experimented with replacing a field and got a READ-ONLY error as follows:

Caught .NET exception, source: VERIFY9.HTM 0006d82x001k err#= 111 line= 13 Cannot update the cursor EXPERTS, since it is read-only.111 Cannot update the cursor EXPERTS, since it is read-only. EXPERTS .NULL. .NULL. .NULL. .NULL. D:\hosting\10247409\html\survey\activevfp.dll message: D:\hosting\10247409\html\survey\activevfp.dll

Here is the URL: http://bswan.us/survey/default.aspx?action=verify9

And finally the actual code in verify9.htm (located in the HTML folder) is here:

 <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>Survey</title>
</head>
<body>
<%
oSession.VALUE("eid","TEB")
IF .NOT. USED('experts')
    USE ('experts') IN 0 SHARED
ENDIF
SELECT experts
replace eid with oSession.VALUE("eid")
%>

</body>
</html>

This one stumped me.  What am I doing wrong?  Thank you.

did you give that directory WRITE privileges??  Any folder that has files or data that gets written to or updated needs write rights..

Yes, thank you.   That worked.

I went into my GoDaddy account and in the dashboard I easily found the place to add Write permission to the various folders.

I saw the term "inherit" and I guess with that you can set the uppermost folder to WRITE and all the subfolders will also be WRITE, but I didn't experiment.
